Live Connection

The Asps recently signed with Live Nation as Live Connection Artists, and through this initiative have signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV. Their single ‘Keep’ has been released on iTunes along with the live tracks recorded by Live Connection at O2 Academy, Islington through Hz Music, Live Connections fledging new label.
The band are currently writing new material to prepare for their debut album, which will be recorded with music industry renowned producer Ron Nevison.

Live Connection is a joint venture between Live Nation and Sound Engineer Pete Webber that records, mixes and then delivers new & unsigned UK music directly to key music industry players and a public audience in excess of 16 million music fans.

Developed by Live Nation Chief Operating Officer Paul Latham, and sound engineer Pete Webber; whilst engineering live shows Pete often spoke with unsigned artists who had spent a lot of money recording, mixing, mastering and in many cases pressing up some CD’s; to be left with?…a box of CD’s!

Having spent the money, the artists were no better off for audience, and still had no more meaningful a relationship with the industry.
Pete says;
‘I decided that there must be a cheaper and more effective way for artists to do this; that could also be a resource to the UK music industry. Especially at a time when budgets for finding new music are tighter than ever in the industry. I took the idea to Paul and he & I have spent the last 12 months or so, developing it into Live Connection.’

We are very clear with the artists that this is a service and it is for sale. There are no competitions to win, there are no judges to please. It is purely about being a cheaper and more effective model to create recordings of your music, reach a vast number of music fans, and to reach some key decision makers from the music & media industries.

Here’s what happens…

Every month we will handpick up to 12 of the highest quality, unsigned acts in the UK who will pay for the service and will play at a closed O2 Academy venue. This is NOT a Pay-To-Play scheme as has been so common in recent times.

Each artist will play a 3-song set and will be recorded to audio and video using state of the art equipment. These performances will then be professionally mixed and sync’d before being uploaded to our servers.

We have put together a group of music & media industry subscribers (subscription is free but invite only) who will have an email in their inbox the following Monday that will take them to our player. Once there they will be able to watch these performances via streaming or download them should they wish, as well as having access to direct contact details for each artist.
